The catalogue of services integrates different analytical techniques such as Elemental Analysis, Thermal and Gravimetric Analysis, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and Ion Chromatography.
The Instrumental Analysis Unit is part of the USC's network of infrastructures supporting research and technological development (R.I.A.I.D.T). This unit includes different sections, most of them related to the determination and quantification of different chemical elements:
- The Microsample Elemental Analysis section is dedicated to the determination of C, N, H, S and O in micro-samples (1-30 mg) of different origin, both solid and liquid.
- The Macrosample Elemental Analysis section is dedicated to the determination of C, H, N and S in macrosamples (50-1000 mg) of different origin, both solid and liquid.
- The ICP-Optical section is dedicated to the determination of most of the elements of the periodic table in liquid samples.
- The ICP-MS section, in addition to multi-elemental quantification, allows coupling with separation techniques such as HPLC (speciation).
- The Thermal Analysis section is dedicated to the calorimetric and thermogravimetric analysis of different materials.
