The USC ranks high in the productivity classification of research in Spanish and European universities and has a relevant position in the assessment of other indicators such as fund-raising for R&D projects and FPI or FPU grants, the number of articles indexed in the JCR or the PhD theses read.
Its high degree of intensity in research is accompanied by a production of knowledge with great employability. Thanks to a sound strategy of valuation, transfer and promotion of entrepreneurship, the USC is among the 10 Spanish universities with the best indicators, with a leading position in patent applications and licence contracts and a notable contribution to the creation of more than thirty companies based on the knowledge generated by its researchers.
The USC also has an extensive network of research support infrastructures with highly qualified personnel who provide scientific-technological support to more than 2,000 researchers, 299 research groups, 29 research institutes and centres and 50 departments.
