The USC Research Infrastructures Area is the organisational structure that integrates the instrumental infrastructures of common use, whose main mission is to provide scientific and technological support services to research at the USC, public research organisations and private entities.
The aim of the Research Infrastructures area is to give greater unity and operability to the USC's research support resources, both material and human, in order to contribute to the scientific and technological development of society as a whole.
The Research Infrastructures Department considers Quality as an added and differentiating value for the scientific-technical support and technology and knowledge transfer work carried out by the organisation's staff. In this sense, the maintenance and improvement of the area's Quality Management System (QMS), based on the ESO 9001 Standard, has the firm support of the Management and the Vice-chancellorship for Science Policy of the USC and the necessary commitment by the staff of the Units.
This strategic decision translates into the development of specific actions aimed at the continuous improvement of the processes that make up the activity of the Units, in order to respond to the needs of their users and other stakeholders, as well as to generate confidence in the results derived from the service provided by means of a wide variety of instrumental techniques applied in very diverse areas of knowledge.
The effort to improve the processes and procedures that make up the area's QMS is externally assessed in annual audits, with the aim of certifying their suitability, and is rewarded with the satisfaction shown by users with the service received and with greater visibility of the public resources available to society as a whole.
