Summary
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the presence of polyarthritis. Its prevalence is between 0.2 and 1.2, more frequently in women and predominantly in urban areas. Its origin is multifactorial, caused mainly by hormonal, immunological, genetic and environmental factors, among which are microorganisms. The objective of this review is to identify literary evidence on the modulatory role of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by the human intestinal microbiota (IM) in RA. A search was carried out in the Medline and Scopus databases, which included observational and experimental studies on (MI) and (AGCC), systematic reviews and meta-analyses published in the last 20 years (between 2005 and 2025). A decrease in alpha and beta diversity in IM has been observed in RA patients compared to healthy subjects, as well as an increase in Escherichia, Shigella, Collinsella and Streptococcus and depletion of Faecalibacterium, while preclinical stages of the disease show an increase in the genus Prevotella. Regarding the phylum, a predominance of Proteobacteria over Firmicutes has been observed in patients with RA. On the other hand, dietary interventions rich in fiber have been related to an increase in the variety of beneficial SCFA-producing species (Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli, Clostridium coccoides and Eubacterium) as well as a decrease in pro-arthritic cytokines (pro-inflammatory chemokine MCP). -1 and the cytokines IL-18 and IL-33). More studies are needed to establish a higher level of evidence between the therapeutic potential of SCFAs produced by MI in the treatment of RA.

Summary
In recent decades, the study of the gut microbiota has been the subject of numerous scientific investigations demonstrating its great influence on the health of two individuals. So, it is known that dysbiosis in the intestinal microbiota can be associated with different pathological states. The modulation of the gut microbiota through diet and different functional ingredients was, consequently, also the object of study by the scientific community, with probiotics being two of the most studied functional ingredients in this regard. They demonstrate its effectiveness in modulating the gut microbiota and its effectiveness in the treatment of different pathologies, and there are currently different clinical guides with recommendations regarding the most appropriate strain and dose in each case. This leads to think that probiotics could also have an effect on sports performance, especially not high-level sports where it is known that the gut microbiota loses its balance. Nowadays there are numerous supplements with probiotics intended for sport use, but it is not clear what role they can play in athletes. For all this, the objective of this work was to carry out a detailed bibliographic review on the potential ergogenic effect of probiotics in endurance sports. The obtained results have shown that probiotics have beneficial effects on gastrointestinal health, mental health, reduction of inflammation, prevention of respiratory infections and improvement of energy metabolism in athletes or that they produce improvements without performance. Finding sufficient scientific evidence for certain strains. All these effects are dependent on factors such as dosage, duration of treatment, individual situations and even sex. Therefore, despite positive results it is necessary to carry out more scientific studies, well-planned, unifying criteria, with larger sample sizes, etc. that can demonstrate the effects of probiotics in sport, especially their effect on performance.

Summary
Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, directly affecting more than 50 million patients worldwide and indirectly affecting tens of millions of their loved ones. Its cause is given by the accumulation of a protein called beta-amyloid in the brain parenchyma and vasculature, the formation of neurofibrillary tangles and a gradual decrease in the synapse. The earliest symptoms of the disease are forgetting recent events or conversations, but over time they worsen, affecting memory, thinking, decision-making, skills and behavior. The primary reason for the onset and progression of the pathology remains unknown, and a definitive treatment cannot be given. However, some factors are known that can increase the risk of suffering from this type of dementia, such as a diet based on red meat, alcohol, soft drinks and ultra-processed foods rich in saturated fats and sugars, low physical activity and metabolic alterations, thus having the ability to act on them. By correcting certain dietary guidelines and encouraging a more active life, we can try to delay the onset and prevent progression to more serious stages of this disease. For all this, the objective of this bibliographic review is to search the most recent scientific literature on nutritional treatment in Alzheimer's disease in order to establish dietary guidelines that make it possible to prevent the appearance or progression of the disease. Nutritional management of Alzheimer’s is a promising approach to prevent and mitigate its progression. The Mediterranean diet, rich in antioxidants and healthy fats, is widely recommended, while a well-planned vegan diet also offers neuroprotective benefits. The ketogenic diet has shown potential to improve cognitive function, but it should be applied with caution due to possible side effects. In summary, a balanced diet rich in key nutrients are essential for improving quality of life and delaying the progression of Alzheimer’s.
