Taking the quality policy of USC as a reference, the Faculty of Sciences developed its Quality Assurance System (QAS), as a key and strategic element to establish a commitment of maximum efficiency with its stakeholders. It covers all the official degrees taught in it and for which it is responsible, both undergraduate and master's degrees, and also all related persons: students, teaching and research staff, and administration and services staff.
The QAS of the Faculty of Sciences considers, as a whole, the design of the training offer, the evaluation and review of its development, as well as the decision-making for continuous improvement. Likewise, it includes the planning of the objectives to be achieved, in accordance with the strategy of the university and the faculty and the periodic review of the the system's operation, to ensure its usefulness for all stakeholders.
The design of the Quality Assurance System of the center was positively evaluated by the Agency for Quality Assurance in the Galician University System (ACSUG) on 30 May 2012, issuing certification of the design of the QAS on 13 December 2012. Subsequently, updates were made to adapt it to the changes produced in the Center and in the USC.
On 08 July 2015, the Faculty of Sciences renewed the accreditation of all its undergraduate and master's degrees implemented up to that moment.
During the 2016-17 academic year, the Center went through the procedure for Certification of the Implementation of the Quality Assurance System, which involved a profound process of modification and review, obtaining on 25 June 2018 the QAS implementation certification of the ACSUG.
On 30 October 2018, it obtained a favorable Institutional Accreditation Report from the ACSUG and, by Resolution of 28 January 2019, the University Council declared the Faculty of Sciences institutional accreditation.
After five years of reviewing and continuous improvement, on 3 June 2024, the Centre obtained the renewal QAS implementation certification, valid until June 2029.
