Work placements

Academic work placements are a training activity that aims to enable students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training.

Work placements in the Degrees

The Faculty of Economics and Business Studies offers its students the possibility of carrying out both curricular and extracurricular work placements in two calls:

  • Curricular: The syllabuses of the Degrees in Business Administration and Management and Economics provide for optional external work placements. These work placements are of a curricular nature and last 150 hours (6 credits).
  • Extracurricular. The work placements are not part of the curriculum but are included in your file and in the European Diploma Supplement (EDPS). They are for a minimum of 7 credits (175 hours) and a maximum of 30 credits (750 hours).

In order to apply for a work placement, you must have passed 120 credits at the time of the call you want to attend.

Curricular work placements must always be conducted and qualified prior to the EDP defence.

There are two calls for work placements

  • In October, to carry them out between October or November and up to April.
  • In March or April, to carry them out until September.

At the end of the work placement period, a final report on the work carried out in the company must be prepared and delivered in electronic format to the academic tutor within ten working days from the end of the work placement and always before the deadline set in each call.
