• Admission profile

  Given that there are no other prerequisite training requirements to start these studies, the access route may already indicate a certain profile, although we believe that it would be highly desirable for the future student of the Degree in Economics to possess the following personal and academic characteristics:

  - Interest in the economic reality and its social implications
  - Analytical and synthesis capacity
  - Social commitment
  - Ability to adapt to a changing and competitive environment
  - Linguistic skills in Spanish and Galician
  - Use of basic computer tools

• Minimum number of ECTS enrollment credits per student and school period

• Tutorial action and reception

  The Faculty has the collaboration of several professors who act as academic coordinators, and whose role is to tutor and assist in their academic decisions to their own and host students.

  The USC has a programme of student tutors for undergraduate degrees, so that final year students, after training provided by the University, carry out guidance tasks for students who are starting their studies.

• Title suspension rules

  When a degree suspension occurs, the USC guarantees the adequate development of teachings that were initiated by their students until its suspension. For that, the Government Council approves the criteria related with the admission of new degree entry registration and the gradual suspension of teaching impartation, among others.

  If the suspended degree is substituted for a similar one —modifying the nature of the degree—, the new degree regulations will set the conditions to facilitate students the continuity of the new degree’s studies. These regulations will also set subject equivalences in both programmes.

• Access and admission rules

  Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to students with the following degrees/ diplomas or studies, or any other recognized as equivalent to these:
  A.1. Spanish Bachiller, European Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate.
  A.2. Baccalaureate from European Union Member States’ education systems or other countries withinternational agreements.
  A.3. Advanced Technician in Vocational Training, Advanced Technician in Plastic Arts and Design orAdvanced Technician in Sports Education, from the Spanish Education System.
  A.4.Studies carried out in European Union Member States or in other countries with international reciprocal agreements which meet the academic requirements in those States to access their university study programmes.
  A.5. Official Spanish university degrees of Diplomado, Arquitecto Técnico, Ingeniero Técnico, Licenciado, Arquitecto, Ingeniero, Graduado or Máster Universitario.
  A.6. Partial (foreign or Spanish) university studies.
  Access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is also possible for:
  B.1. People over twenty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
  B.2. People over forty with work or professional experience related to a university field of knowledge.
  B.3. People over forty-five after successfully passing a specific access test.
  Likewise, access to Bachelor’s Degree programmes is granted to:
  C.1. People meeting the requirements to enter university according to the Spanish Education System regulations prior to Ley Orgánica 8/2013, of December 9.

The Faculty has 37 classrooms for theoretical teaching-seminar, with capacity from 25 to 500 seats and 7 computer rooms for teaching, with a total of 120 computers.

Among the areas designated for students, the centre has a computer room that are free to use and equipped with computers, 3 workrooms for students, two study lounges and a collaborative workspace.

We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty.

The Library of the Center serves students of Economics and Business Administration. Its space is divided into three floors and has over 340 seats for reading.

1. Training of professionals with scientific knowledge to analyze and explain the behavior of the economy and the economic agents and to perform management tasks, counselling and evaluation in economic matters. These tasks can be developed in the private or public sector, in companies or any other institution with economic and social relevance.

• Basic skills

  Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados, incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio;

  Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio;

  Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética;

  Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado;

  Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

• Generic skills

  1. Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding in Economics as a scientific discipline, including its theories, history, methods, techniques and areas of application, at a level that, whilst supported by advanced textbooks, includes some aspects that will be informed by knowledge of the forefront of their field of study.
  2. Know how to prepare and defend arguments about economic issues at a general level, and solving problems in this topic.
  3. Have the ability to identify, gather and interpret relevant data on matters related to economics.
  4. Be able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions on economic issues to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  5. Have developed those learning skills that are necessary to undertake further study with a high degree of autonomy.

• Specific skills

  Conocer y comprender la naturaleza de la economía y entorno económico inmediata y mediata, nacional e internacional:
  Conocer y comprender los modelos y técnicas de representación de la realidad económica:
  Conocer y comprender los modelos microeconómicos, economía industrial y funcionamiento de los mercados de competencia
  Conocimientos básicos de álgebra lineal, cálculo diferencial e integral, optimización matemática, estadística descriptiva, probabilidad, inferencia estadística, modelos de regresión simple y de variables explicativas, y modelos econométricos.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. El trabaajo de Fin de Grado tendrá 6 créditos y sólo podrá inscribirse una vez superados 150 créditos, entre ellos, todos los de la primera mitad de la titulación.
