The Master's Degree aims to train experts who: 1) are aware of the complexity of the management of material and energy flows and 2) are equipped with the skills to implement the principles of the Circular Economy in companies and public and private institutions from a multidisciplinary perspective. It should be noted that in the near future it will be necessary to have experts with extensive training in the Circular Economy who are able to identify the full complexity of the problem and currently this multidisciplinary training is not provided in any of the access degrees or in any of the Masters that are being taught in the 3 universities involved.

    El programa de Máster se estructura en torno a tres cuatrimestres de 30 ECTS cada uno. Los dos primeros estarán dedicados a la impartición de los conocimientos incluidos en las asignaturas obligatorias las cuales, a su vez, estarán estructuradas en 5 módulos.
    El tercer cuatrimestre (2º curso) estará constituido por un único módulo, destinado a las Prácticas Externas (12 ECTS) y al Trabajo Fin de Máster (18 ECTS).

  • - To develop skills and knowledge to lead and drive the transition from the linear model to the circular economy model within organisations and companies.
    - To identify specific areas of action within the multi-R approach (redesign, remanufacture, repair, redistribute, reduce, reuse, recycle, recover) and to develop sustainable technical solutions in these fields.
    - To apply the fundamentals of ecodesign in the design of products and services.
    - To define strategies for the reduction and management of organisational waste and to implement material and waste treatment and recovery techniques.
    - To design and implement new circular and collaborative business models, orienting them towards climate neutrality, including the knowledge necessary to develop a business plan.
    - To apply current environmental legislation on sustainability and associated economic policies in professional practice.
    - To understand the basic causes of current pollution-related problems.
    - To understand recent scientific and technological advances that help mitigate these problems.
    - To promote the use of clean technologies and renewable energy sources, as well as the development of efficient water and energy management strategies.
    - To promote and disseminate the principles, foundations, and benefits of the circular economy, as well as the organisation’s commitment to this new paradigm and to the social economy.
    - To use information and communication technologies (ICT) and emerging technologies to implement and optimise circular economy models.
    - To become familiar with various tools for designing policy strategies that support economic and social circularity.

    Internships

    With regard to the conditions for carrying out the work placement, the provisions of the regulations of the Galician University System will be taken into account. During his stay, the student will be integrated into the organisation of the company and will coordinate with the other members of the work team to which he is assigned. The student will have a company tutor who will guide and supervise him/her in the specific tasks to be developed within the company and an academic tutor who, together with the company tutor, will define the general framework of the student’s activity. The Inter-University Academic Committee will draw up guidelines concerning (i) the procedure for offering and disseminating placements, (ii) the criteria for assigning placements to students, (iii) the criteria for assigning academic tutors, (iv) the assessment and grading procedures and rubrics.

  • The Master’s Dissertation will consist of developing an original work individually and presenting and defending it before a university tribunal. Identify the social, legal, security, environmental, environmental, economic and technological restrictions in the problem to be solved or project. Reflect, where appropriate, on the social or ethical responsibility linked to the development of the dissertation. Communicate accurately and unambiguously, both in writing and orally, knowledge, procedures, arguments, results, ideas and conclusions to specialised and non-specialised audiences in the field of circular economy. Integrate knowledge, procedural methodologies and previously acquired skills to solve a problem related to the field of circular economy in its broadest conception.
