  • Operational equipment
Mass spectrometer with triple quadrupole analyser. Curved Q0 (90º) for neutral species removal, curved (180º) long path collision cell for neutral species removal.
    • Chromatographic system: Bruker 451 GC gas chromatograph.
    • Ionisation sources: Electronic Impact (EI), and Positive Chemical Ionisation (PCI) and Negative Chemical Ionisation (NCI).
    • Ionisation modes: positive and negative for CI, positive for EI.
    • Types of injector:
      • PTV 1079 universal capillary injector, with electronic flow control (EFC) and temperature programming.
      • Bruker Combipal automatic robotic injector.
        • Liquid sample injection (split/splitless/splitless with temperature programming/large volumes).
        • Thermostatised headspace system.
        • Solid phase micro-extraction system (SPME).
    • Acquisition types: Full scan, SIM, MRM, precursor ion, product ion and neutral loss experiments.
    • Mass range: 10-2000.
    • Applications: small molecule - compound identification (spectro library search) and quantification.
    • Spectra library: Nist, Wiley, aromas, pesticides.
