All those samples, which are insoluble in any solvent, are susceptible or too apolar to be measured with the mobile phase used in APCI/APPI-FIA, or those that degrade with the high temperatures used in APCI or APPI sources, have the option of the Probe.
  • The Probe consists of using the same APCI or APPI source as in FIA, but changing the sprayer connected to the HPLC/UHPLC for a DIP (Direct Injection Probe). In this way, a glass capillary is used to introduce the undissolved (or dissolved if applicable) sample, allowing the sample to be injected into the HPLC/UHPLC.
