This degree qualifies you for the regulated profession of Engineer in Public Works with all the professional responsibilities recognised by law.     Professional qualification:
    This qualification enables in Spain the exercise of the regulated profession of Technical Engineer of Public Works.

    This degree qualifies you for the regulated profession of Engineer in Public Works with all the professional responsibilities recognised by law. You will acquire the skills of any of the three specialities of the profession: Civil Constructions, Hydrology or Transport and Urban Services. Graduates of the Degree in Civil Engineering are recognised at European level as this degree is adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

    Civil Engineering graduates develop essential tasks of service to society, aimed at social development, as they acquire a comprehensive education for the planning, project, construction and conservation of basic transport infrastructures, for the maintenance and conservation of water and energy resources, for the development of territorial planning studies and environmental issues related to infrastructures, and for land use and the development of urban public space.

    Recognition of credits:

    • Up to 21 credits can be recognised for work experience and non-official studies (own qualifications, specialisation courses, etc.).
    • You can apply for recognition of those subjects passed in official qualifications.
  • The grade includes the following mentions:

    -Mention in Civil Construction
    -Mention in Hydrology
    -Mention in Transport and Urban Services

    Students must choose one of the three mentions and complete the module of subjects linked to that mention. The mention made will appear on their graduate certificate.

  • The centre has 18 general purpose classrooms, 6 seminar rooms and 6 computer labs for teaching. It also has 18 laboratories and 8 workshops, 2 graphic expression classrooms, 1 topography seminar. We can highlight the existence of a practice farm attached to the centre to be used by qualifications linked to agricultural and forestry area.

    Among the areas designated for students, it has a computer room with free access, with wireless connection from anywhere in the centre.

    The Library Service of the Lugo University Campus is centralised in a single building called Inter-Centre Library located next to the centre where students have more than 1600 consultation stations, distributed over 9 rooms including a room for group work.

  • 1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in a field of study that part of the basis of general secondary education, and is typically at a level which, although it is supported by advanced textbooks, includes some aspects involving knowledge of the forefront of their field of study.
    2. Have the ability of applying their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and have competences prove to be adopted through the development and sustaining arguments and solving problems within their field of study.
    3. Have the ability of gathering and interpreting relevant data (usually in their field of study) in order to inform judgments that include a reflection on relevant topics of social, scientific or ethical nature.
    4. Be able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and public unskilled.
    5. Have developed those learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

    Al amparo del art. 12.6 del RD 1393/2007, en esta titulación, los/las estudiantes podrán obtener reconocimiento académico incluso un máximo de 6 créditos optativos por la realización de prácticas externas relacionadas con el título.

  • El Trabajo Fin de Grado podrá presentarse y defenderse cuando el alumnado tenga superados todos los demás créditos necesarios para la obtención del título, es decir, 228 ECTS.
    Se trata de un ejercicio original que se debe realizar individualmente y presentar y defender perante un tribunal universitario, consistente en un proyecto en el ámbito de las tecnologías específicas de la Ingeniería Civil de naturaleza profesional en el que se sinteticen e integren las competencias adquiridas en las enseñanzas del grado.
