Facultade de Bioloxía
Faculty of Biology

The Faculty of Biology of the USC was created in 1977 as a result of the division of the former Faculty of Science. Initially located in the Faculty of Science, in 1972 it moved to the Faculty of Pharmacy where it remained until the construction of the current building for the Faculty of Biology in 1982. Since 2008, four teaching units of the Faculty of Biology, which are Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics and Microbiology, occupy a new building, linked to the faculty, called CIBUS (Centre for Biological Research of the USC). The Faculty offers two degrees, a double degree and four inter-university master's degrees associated with the University of Vigo and the University of A Coruña.
