Quality Policy and Objectives of the Centre

The Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Faculty of Mathematics seeks to promote continuous improvement in all the degrees taught at the faculty, allowing them to achieve quality levels that facilitate their accreditation and renewal.

Taking as a reference the quality policy of the USC (framed within its strategic plan), the Faculty draws up its policy marking as its main objective the development of training programmes that are guaranteed by an efficient management of its resources, both material and human, sharing knowledge and experiences to support continuous improvement as a key and strategic element, establishing a firm commitment to maximum efficiency with its stakeholders.

The Faculty of Mathematics wants to be recognised in the national and international university and social context for developing training programmes that guarantee the best and most appropriate and up-to-date training for its students, which respond to the demands of the labour, technological and research market, promoting the critical and autonomous learning capacity of its students and guaranteeing the best professional development conditions (within the framework of its competences) for its teaching, research and service staff and accounting for the investments made and the optimisation of its resources.

The Faculty of Mathematics focuses its efforts on identifying and meeting the needs and expectations of all its stakeholders, and especially its students, making available to them the technical, economic and human resources it has at its disposal; always in strict compliance with the applicable legal requirements, at regional, state and European level. To this end, the Faculty of Mathematics will encourage the organisation and participation of its members in various activities that improve and expand the skills of its students and generate and enhance a collaborative environment within the Faculty, University and society in general.

For all these reasons, the Faculty of Mathematics is firmly committed to guaranteeing its quality and establishes its policy in accordance with these principles and objectives:

  • Responsibility: to provide training aimed at excellence, guaranteeing an academic offer in accordance with the needs and expectations of its stakeholders and society in general.
  • Integration, participation and equality: the Faculty of Mathematics establishes that all the needs of its stakeholders are met as one of the key objectives of its policy and that everyone participates in the development of the Faculty through the channels established for that purpose, guaranteeing accessibility, participation and equality.
  • Guidance to students: this centre guarantees guidance to students in all its training programmes, understanding that they are the main recipients.
  • Excellence: the work of this Faculty is carried out with the aim of achieving the excellence that the principal models of university quality and the main recognised Schools and Faculties set out.
  • Transparency: this Faculty bases the management of its training programme on transparency in its results and the dissemination of these to its stakeholders.
