The work of the Polítical Science focuses on the accumulation, circulation and discussion of the specialized knowledge related to the theory, to the practice and to the institutions of the societies, likewise attends to the currents demands of the culture, of the identities and of the governability. There are new markets that are opened by the development of the local and regional administrations, of the consultancy, of the management of the public participation or of the NGO’s.

    The social demand for skills such as those acquired by graduates in polítical and management science is growing day by day. Knowledge and skills such as those relating to decision-making, the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and information, human resource management, evaluation of programmes and policies or crisis management, train professionals of the discipline to respond to economic, social and polítical challenges that require flexible and innovative responses.

  • The centre has 8 general purpose classrooms with capacity for more than 100 seats each one and 6 classrooms for work in small groups with capacity for 45 students each one. Also, it has a computer room, as well as a lab and 4 rooms for group work, that complement the equipment for teaching.

    There are also areas designated for students

    • A computer room that is free to use and equipped with computers.
    • A reading room with around 130 seats.

    We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty

    The Shared Library “Concepción Arenal”, which serves the Faculties of Polítical and Social Sciences, Law and Labour Relations, is placed next to the Faculty, and has 1030 reading stations.

  • 1. Motivate students to learn the main concepts, methods and basic techniques of Political Science and Public Administration.
    2. Understand the nature and methods applied to the subject of study of different disciplines, from the historical perspective of its creation and development.
    3. Understand the field of Political Science and Public Administration as a part of the Social Sciences area.
    4. Provide strong self-training in Political Science and Public Administration.
    5. Provide solid training in the bases of social sciences according to the skills required by the professional activity.
    6. Create through the study the critical ability to be able to assess and design alternatives to face institutional, public policy and management affairs.
    7. Train in self-learning and elaborate solutions to the problems under study.

    La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa):

    De carácter obligatorio y 28 ECTS. Para su desarrollo a Facultad firmó un importante número de convenios con empresas personales y administraciones públicas que garantizarán su realización. Las prácticas estarán titorizadas por profesorado del centro y por las empresas o administraciones en las que se realicen.

  • 14 créditos ECTS de carácter obligatorio que consistirá en un trabajo individual realizado por el estudiante tutorizado por un profesor que se deberá defender de forma pública y mediante lo que el estudiante podrá mostrar las competencias adquiridas Con el Grado de Ciencias Políticas y de la Administración. Este trabajo deberá permitirle al estudiante el desarrollo de las capacidades de escritura, análisis y exposición pública, fundamentales para el perfil profesional del grado.
