Quality Policy

The Faculty of Law of the University of the Santiago de Compostela carries out its quality policy through its strategic plan, improvement plan and annual quality report, and is aware of the importance of quality in the university context, to guarantee training programmes that respond to the demands of excellence in today's society.

Mission

The Faculty of Law is a public institution, incorporated into the USC, whose mission is to contribute to the comprehensive and rigorous training of future jurists, in a stimulating environment of academic excellence. We are a centre committed to education based on democratic principles and to the development of society in the 21st century. The teaching and research staff of this faculty form reference research groups in the legal field, promoting the development of legal knowledge, fostering research activities, dissemination and relations with public administrations, companies, institutions and research centres. Added to them are the administration and services staff and the centre’s students.

Vision

The Faculty of Law seeks to enhance its recognition as a prestigious centre of reference in teaching and research, both nationally and internationally, without ever losing sight of its commitment to society, especially in Galicia. In this sense, our character of public service must coexist with a personalized, transparent, sustainable, efficient and adaptable university model, capable of effectively meeting the needs of the different interest groups.

Values

Beyond the production and transmission of legal knowledge, the Faculty of Law promotes education based on the principles of equality, freedom, justice and political pluralism belonging to a democratic and lawful society. The centre guarantees equal opportunities and conditions, rejecting inequalities and discrimination based on gender, social class, ethnic or racial origin, sexual orientation or functional diversity. In the same way, it is committed to sustainable development and transparency, both in its daily operation and in the various bodies belonging to the Faculty.
