Recognition of Qualifications

If you have or can obtain a document certifying your language proficiency, check whether it is recognized or validated by the university or the receiving institution.

At USC, certification documents are recognized for all languages, provided they specify the oral and written comprehension and expression skills corresponding to the level of proficiency being accredited, as defined by the CEFR. These documents must be issued by official institutions such as Spanish public universities, universities within the European Higher Education Area, official language schools, official linguistic centers (e.g., Cervantes, Llull), and organizations recognized by the linguistic commissions of CRUE and ACLES, among others.

Certification of completed levels may be issued on the same day or different days and may be recorded in a single document or multiple documents. Additionally, certification may indicate different levels for different skills. In such cases, the minimum level attained across the assessed skills will be recognized, regardless of the overall level stated in the document.

Recognition of languages spoken in Spain (Spanish, Galician, Catalan, Basque) is only applicable to international students, not to nationals.

If you do not have a certification document or if it is not valid for mobility or accreditation purposes at USC, you may take the Language Proficiency Tests (PCL) (PCL) organized by the CLM or participate in external exams in collaboration with the university.
