The tradition of Physics as a scientific discipline focused on scientific research and teaching as areas of action. And from there, the many advances that physics has promoted throughout history and that have marked the progress of society, placing the subject in a privileged place in both research and teaching.

However, physicists no longer operate exclusively in traditional knowledge areas, but rather, at this time, the vast majority of graduates in physical sciences carry out their activity in professional sectors as diverse as health, computing, economics, communications the environment or consulting. Physicists' great versatility is undeniable and it puts them in an advantageous position due to their expertise and the diversity of career opportunities available to them.

  • The Faculty of Physics has 11 teaching classrooms of different capacities. They are equipped with the didactic and audiovisual means necessary to implement the methodologies of the European Higher Education Area. Likewise, it has two computer rooms for teaching, with 25 and 15 posts, respectively.

It also has a Board Room, with capacity for 32 seats and a Magna Aula, with capacity for 100 people.

For practical training, has several teaching laboratories conveniently equipped and constantly updated: General Physics, Quantum Physics, Mechanics and Waves, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electronics, Solid State, Nuclear Physics and Electromagnetism.

There are also spaces enabled for students, with work tables, loading stations and wireless data network connection.

The center has an Intercenter Library, shared with the Faculty of Optics and Optometry, which concentrates the specific funds of this degree and which has more than 144 reading positions. The library is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Physics.

It should also be noted that wireless connection to the Internet is possible from any point of the faculty.

  • 1. To train graduates able to observe, catalog and model the natural phenomena through their knowledge of the different branches of Physics, allowing access to the labor market in positions of medium-high level of responsibility or continue studies, with a high degree of autonomy in scientific and technological disciplines.
    2. To develop in students a clear perception of situations which are apparently different but show obvious physical similarities, which allows the application of proven solutions to new problems.
    3. To promote in students the ability to identify the essential elements of a process or an entire situation that allows its study and making predictions about its future evolution. It must also be able to verify the validity of the model by introducing the necessary modifications when discrepancies between predictions and observations are observed.
    4. To familiarize students with laboratory work, instrumentation and the experimental methods used.
    5. To transmit the relevance of Physics in the overview of current Science and the important role it plays in the technological development of our society. Instill students with a vision of physics as an integral part of education and culture that allows him to recognize its presence in Nature through Science, Technology and Arts.
    6. To transmit to students the respect for fundamental rights and equality between men and women, the respect and promotion of human rights and the principles of equal opportunity, non-discrimination and universal accessibility for people with disabilities

  • Mobility
