  • Upon graduation, a chemical engineer must have achieved the following training objectives:
    1. Have relevant knowledge of the basic sciences (mathematics, chemistry, biotechnology and physics) to help understand, describe and solve the phenomena of chemical engineering.
    2. Understand the basic principles of chemical engineering:
    a. Balances of matter, energy and amount of motion.
    b. Balance
    c. Kinetic processes (chemical reaction, matter, heat, amount of motion) and be able to use them to pose and solve (analytically, numerically or graphically) a variety of chemical engineering problems.
    3. Understand the main concepts of process control.
    4. Understand the basic principles of processes/products.
    5. Have a relevant knowledge of the available relevant bibliography and data sources.

    9. Understand the basic concept of product engineering.
    10. Have the knowledge and carry out practical applications of product engineering.
    11. Have the ability to analyse complex problems.
    12. Have experience in the use of appropriate software.
    13. Be able to carry out product and process design.
    14. Be able to calculate the costs of processes and projects.

  • Mobility

Student mobility is regulated through the “Regulation of inter-university exchange.” Exchange programmes are managed through the International Relations Office, such as national exchange programmes (SICUE) as well as Europeans (ERASMUS) and from outside the European Union (exchanges with Latin American countries or English-speaking countries):
    https://www.usc.gal/gl/servizos/area/internacional
Student mobility is carried out from the second year of studies in the degree, in quarterly or annual periods.

    Internships

The subject Internships in companies will imply that students carry out internships in one or more companies, for a maximum of 150 hours for recognition purposes, among those with which an agreement has been established from the Higher Technical School of Engineering or the USC. They are mandatory and are offered in the second semester of the fourth year.
The Higher Technical School of Engineering will assign the students a tutor from among the Teaching and Research Staff of the degree, who will monitor the work carried out by the students and ensure the quality of the stay carried out.

  • In accordance with the provisions of order CIN/351/2009, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that qualify for the exercise of the profession of Industrial Technical Engineer, the Final Dissertation will consist of an exercise of design that will comprise a unit of an industrial facility. It will be done individually. The selection of the project theme will be proposed by the students or teachers of the degree. The project proposal document will be approved by the Final Dissertation commission. Everything related to the completion and evaluation of the TFG will be regulated by specific regulations that will be prepared for this purpose.
