The Quality Assurance System of the Faculty of Communication Sciences is aligned with the QMS of the University of Santiago, although it has its own peculiarities that it defines through procedures that guide the design of the training offer, the review of its development, as well as decision-making for continuous improvement.
In the same way, the quality of the centre is specified in the planning of the objectives to be achieved, in accordance with the university's strategy and the periodic review of the functioning of the system, with the aim of guaranteeing its usefulness for all stakeholders.
The initial edition of the centre's Quality Assurance System, positively evaluated by the Agency for the Quality of the Galician University System (ACSUG), took place on 21 December 2009, after which the QMS would be periodically updated, in order to adapt it to the changes produced both at institutional level and in the centre itself.
On 21 June 2017, the Faculty of Communication Sciences renewed the accreditation of the undergraduate degrees implemented until then. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the centre undertook the process of Certification of the Implementation of the Quality Assurance System, which represented an important support for the autonomy of operation of its QMS, as well as institutional recognition of its maturity; obtaining on 30 July 2019, the ACSUG QMS Implementation Certification valid until 2024.
The centre obtained a favourable Institutional Accreditation Report from ACSUG and, by Resolution of 17 December 2019, the Council of Universities issued the Institutional Accreditation of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, valid until 2025.
Finally, it should be noted that the centre's QMS has its documentary support in the QMS Manual, in the Process Manual, as well as in the Strategic Plan, with which, in turn, both the Quality Report and the Improvement Action Plan, both of which are annual, are aligned.
