The Degree in Journalism deals with initial university training of a field of scientific and academic knowledge and a field of professional practice that is established and widespread. Journalists are already incorporated in the various areas of society, from public bodies, primarily through communication offices, to private initiatives.

    The Degree in Journalism deals with initial university training of a field of scientific and academic knowledge and a field of professional practice that is established and widespread.

    Journalists are already incorporated in the various areas of society, from public bodies, primarily through communication offices, to major private initiatives that acquire the dimensions of multinationals.

  • The centre has 9 general purpose classrooms, of different capacities, 3 seminar rooms, 3 viewing classrooms, 3 computer labs, 2 radio studios, 2 TV sets, 1 film set with stage machinery, one television newsroom classroom, 7 video editing booths, and 1 dubbing room.

    Among the areas designated for students, it has two computer labs equipped with computers.

    We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty.

    The Library of the Faculty of Communication Sciences has more than 80 reading stations and a work room.

  • To provide a rational and critical knowledge of the current events to understandably explain them to the audience.
    To promote the development of skills for understanding social and political diversity and for respecting different social and moral values and promoting social awareness.
    To provide skills in searching and gathering information, identification and selection of sources, and its further transformation in pieces of news of public interest.
    Promote a coherent and concise expression in the national languages, but also in foreign languages such as English.
    To provide basic knowledge in theories and research methods in the different areas of communication and information studies

    La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa):

    Hay un Módulo de Prácticas en empresas periodísticas que se trata de actividades formativas periodos formativos complementarios en empresas del sector de la comunicación, vinculadas a la USC a través del convenio de practicas USC-Empresa que regula esta actividad. Las competencias que adquirirán los estudiantes son las relacionadas con el propio desarrollo de su estancia formativa en las empresas convenidas. Junto a estas competencias específicas, los estudiantes conocerán a modo experimental la casuística del mercado laboral.

  • El Trabajo fin de grado constará de 12 créditos obligatorios a realizar en el segundo cuatrimestre del cuarto curso del grado.
