    The general goal is to train senior technicians capable of planning, projecting, organizing, controlling and directing the forest spaces and the goods and services they provide. Among its specific objectives are to protect the soil, conserve and regulate water resources, ensure the protection and continuity of species of wild flora and fauna, improve the rural environment, study and organize the reforestation of forests and take advantage of forest resources, both for their transformation by industry and for their direct enjoyment, as well as building forest tracks and designing facilities for the storage, drying and transformation of wood. To do this, knowledge is acquired in the fight against pests and plant diseases, in the prevention and management of forest fires, in the protection and promotion of wild flora and fauna, both terrestrial and aquaculture, and in the genetic improvement of plant species.

    It is intended that students who complete the master are professionals prepared for the exercise of the regulated profession of Forest Engineer and know how to manage forest resources in a sustainable way.

    El Máster en Ingeniería de Montes ofrece las siguientes especialidades:

    -Especialidad en Espacios Protegidos
    -Especialidad en Incendios Forestales
    -Especialidad en Modelos para la Gestión Forestal

    Para obtener la especialidad el estudiante deberá cursar las 6 asignaturas optativas de 3 ECTS cada una (18 ECTS en total) que conforman el módulo de especialidad correspondiente, así como realizar las Prácticas Externas (PE) y el Trabajo Fin de Máster (TFM) en temáticas relacionadas con la especialidad elegida. El alumno también puede obtener la titulación sin ninguna especialidad; en este caso podrá escoger libremente las 6 asignaturas optativas que desee, sin estar obligado a que sean del mismo módulo, así como realizar las Prácticas Externas y el Trabajo Fin de Máster en cualquier temática acorde con el título propuesto.

  • The master's degree is aimed at bachelor graduates in Forest Engineering, although other students will be able to access it after taking the training complements established according to the degree they have.

  • The general aim of the qualification of the ‘Master in Forestry Engineering’ is to train senior technicians capable of planning, forecasting, organising, controlling and managing natural areas and the assets and services provided by a woodland environment. Among its aims are the protection of soil, the conservation and regulation of water resources, the guarantee of the continuity of species of wild flora and fauna, the improvement of the rural environment and the use of woodland resources for conversion by industry as well as direct enjoyment. Also included in its competences are the construction of forest tracks and buildings for the storage, drying and processing of wood. The Forestry Engineers study and organise the repopulation and conservation of woodland areas. To achieve this, they deal with techniques to fight plant pests and diseases, the prevention of fires and fire-fighting, the protection and fostering of wild land and water fauna and the improvement of all species of wild flora. The aim is for the students who complete the course to be trained professionals ready to carry out the regulated profession of ‘Forestry Engineer’ and that they know how to manage renewable natural resources in a rational way. This qualification enables the exercise of the regulated profession of Forestry Engineer in Spain.

    La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa): Portal Internacional

    Internships

    Las prácticas consistirán en la realización, por parte del alumno, de prácticas en una empresa o organismo durante 240 h (6 semanas) más la elaboración del informe correspondiente, a efectos de obtención de 10 créditos equivalentes

    La Escuela Politécnica Superior cuenta con cerca de 400 convenios con empresas e instituciones para que el alumnado de las distintas titulaciones que se imparten en ella pueda realizar prácticas externas

  • La metodología docente a utilizar será la docencia interactiva personalizada con el fin de atender las necesidades específicas de cada trabajo fin de máster que, en cumplimiento de los requisitos que afectan a la profesión regulada de Ingeniero de Montes, deberá de ser un ejercicio original e individual.

    Los contenidos del trabajo fin de máster estarán dentro del ámbito profesional del Ingeniero de Montes. Para determinar la procedencia de una temática, el estudiante deberá presentar una propuesta siguiendo un formulario normalizado ante la comisión de seguimiento. Una vez obtenida la aprobación de la propuesta, el TFM podrá ser elaborado y presentado para su defensa.
