    The Degree in Social Education offered by the University of Santiago de Compostela should train students for independent professional development of scientific knowledge and principles of action needed for the analysis, understanding, interpretation and educational intervention in various institutional and social contexts, contributing to the integral training of people and to improving their quality of life.

    In this sense, it provides the skills, attitudes and basic abilities needed for the design, management, intervention and evaluation of resources, plans, programmes and projects of a social-educational nature that affects the daily lives of people, individually and collectively, with special emphasis on processes or realities that generate some kind of dependency, risk or social difficulty.

    As education professionals, who share codes of ethics and conduct with other educational and social staff, they must respond to the needs and demands of citizens in problem areas affecting the coexistence and welfare of people, mainly with educational and social interventions within an institutional and social community scope.

  • The center has 14 classrooms for general use, with capacity between 50 and 120 seats, and 9 seminar rooms with 20 seats, a room for group dynamics, a computer room for teaching and a room with technology media and media research audiovisuals.

    Among the areas designated for students, there is a computer room, that is free to use, equipped with 15 computers and tables for group work.

    We can also highlight that wireless Internet connection is available everywhere in the Faculty.

    In the south campus, the Library is located in the central module that the Faculties of Education and Psychology share. In the north campus, the library is on the ground floor of the Faculty, and has more than 80 reading stations.

  • Know the conceptual, technical, theoretical and methodological aspects of Social Education.
    Know the socio-political, cultural and institutional framework of Social Education and its practises.
    Design, develop and evaluate educational processes (plans, programmes, projects or activities) that refer to Social Education in the different fields of the socio-educational intervention in which is defined their professional performance, individual and/or collaboration with other educational and social professionals.
    Use strategies, methodologies, techniques and means that allow a differentiated educational intervention according to the subjects, groups and/or collectives where the social educators develop their professional activity. From childhood to the old age, the social educator also addresses the different social circumstances in institutional and community contexts where people live their daily life.

  • Mobility

    The Faculty has the collaboration of several professors who act as academic coordinators, and whose function is to tutor and assist the host and foreign students in their academic decisions.

    Student mobility takes place from the second year of studies in the degree, in four-month or annual periods. The selection of candidates is carried out, for each call or programme, by a Selection Committee composed of the dean, the vice dean responsible for exchange programmes, the person responsible for the UAXCD and the academic coordinators, in accordance with grading criteria, previously established, which take into account the academic record, a report and, if applicable, the language skills required by the destination University

    The mobility of students is regulated through the "Regulation of inter-university exchanges". Through the Office of Foreign Relations, both national (SICUE), European (ERASMUS) and non-EU exchange programmes (exchanges with Latin American countries or English-speaking countries) are managed:

    El título de grado de Educación Social incluye 30 créditos de prácticas externas, Practicum, de carácter obligatorio.
    Para poder desarrollarlo, se establecieron convenios de colaboración con la Administración e instituciones sociales (fundaciones, asociaciones y ONG’s), a fin de regular la presencia del alumnado en los diferentes servicios y favorecer el trabajo colaborativo entre la Universidad y dichos centros.

  • Para poder matricularse del Trabajo de Fin de Grado el alumnado deberá superar 150 créditos de formación básica y obligatoria. En el momento de presentación del trabajo deberá tener superados 234 créditos.

  • Students who have already completed the Diploma in Social Education will have the opportunity to obtain the Degree in Social Education by following a Supplementary Course. This course, with a workload of 60 ECTS credits, consists of the following subjects, 6 credits each:
