Volunteer programme at APACAF.

The Asociación de Padres de Personas con Trastorno del Espectro Autista de Centros de Apoyo Familiar (APACAF)(Association of Parents of People with Autistic Spectrum Disorder of Family Support Centres) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people with autism with an individual-centred approach.

APACAF's values are respect and tolerance, transparency of information, equality and internal democracy.

Its centres are rural homes with small groups without sacrificing professional care and quality management.

There is a residence in A Braña (A Estrada) and a day centre in Penagrande (Moraña).

 

  • Classrooms at the A Braña Centre

    Continuous training. Music therapy. Teach. Computer Science.

    • To help in the acquisition of communication, manipulative or educational skills.
    • Bridging the digital divide by performing tasks with software (PCs/tablets).
    • Use and auditory visual discrimination of musical instruments.
       
    • Timetable: Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Classrooms at the Day Centre in Penagrande

    Yoga. Trekking

    • Walks in the area to avoid sedentary lifestyles and underactivity.
    • Relaxation exercises that promote physical and muscular tone.
       
    • Timetable: Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Places: 1

     Digital Volunteering

    • Search for resources.
    • Production of posters.
    • Management of social networks (Facebook, X, etc.)
    • Networking with other entities.

    Camps

    The camps take place at Easter or in the summer.

    • Recreational activities during holiday periods to help families reconcile family, work and personal life.
    • Support in all recreational activities.
    • Travel support.

    Accompaniment

    • Timetable: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
