The course will be taught in blended learning using as support the corporate platforms of the USC: Moodle (Virtual Campus) and MS Teams. The study and learning of this subject will be supported by the following activities:
(a) Autonomous study by the students of the didactic materials corresponding to each thematic unit that the faculty will make available to the students in the Virtual Campus.
(b) Performance by the students of practical activities, preferably of an individual nature. In this sense, several practical cases will be proposed to be developed throughout the course and must be delivered on the corresponding dates according to the established schedule. The information and delivery of these activities will be articulated through the Virtual Campus.
(c) Active participation of students in collaborative activities (e.g., discussion forums). These discussion forums will allow students to express their views and opinions, seeking interaction and shared debate.
(d) Face-to-face sessions: These sessions, which will be developed according to the schedules established by the Faculty, will be held in the corresponding classroom and will be retransmitted synchronously in streaming. Consequently, students will be able to attend them either physically or by connecting through MS Teams. In these sessions a brief review of the general contents of each thematic unit will be carried out and other complementary activities will be developed to those carried out individually by the students and oriented to encourage the participation and sharing of the whole group.
The autonomous work of the students will be guided by the teacher in the hours destined to tutorials. These tutorials will be developed preferably through the MSTeams platform.
The evaluation will take into account all the activities developed by the students (performance of individual practical activities, participation in collaborative activities, etc.).
For cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the evaluation of student academic performance and review of qualifications shall apply.
There are two opportunities to pass the subject. Students who do not pass the subject in the first opportunity will have the right to a second one, which will be the one that appears in their academic record in the event that the grade obtained is higher.
The evaluation system for these two opportunities will be as follows:
First ordinary opportunity. Continuous evaluation is contemplated, combined with a final test.
1. Continuous assessment: completion of individual practical activities, participation in collaborative activities, etc.
Weight in the final qualification: 40%.
The evaluable activities will be listed in the virtual classroom as well as their weighting.
In this part the following competences will be evaluated: CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5, CG1, CG6, CT1, CT4, CT5, CT6, CT7, CE2, CE3, CE11.
2. Final content exam: mandatory test in which the learning results will be assessed, and may include short answer questions, multiple choice questions, short reasoning questions, or cases (real or invented) to which the student must provide a solution, based on the theoretical contents of the course and/or the skills/competences developed throughout the term.
Weight in the final qualification: 60%.
In this part the following competences will be evaluated: CB1, CB5, CG1, CT5, CE2.
The final content test will be given in person.
In the minutes, the aggregate grade of the continuous evaluation and the final exam will be recorded, with the following exceptions. If the student does not achieve the minimum grade in the exam (3 out of 6), the grade that will appear in the minutes will be the grade achieved in this test, the continuous evaluation will not be added. If the student does not take the final exam, the grade in the minutes will be zero, the continuous evaluation will not be added.
In accordance with the Regulations for the development of blended learning in the Faculty of Business Administration and Management (approved by the Faculty Board on 13/9/2021), attendance to face-to-face sessions will be mandatory for students who follow the blended learning regime. A percentage of compulsory attendance of 75% of the face-to-face sessions is established. In case a student does not comply with the minimum established in the previous section, he/she will lose the right to the continuous evaluation. Consequently, his grade will be the grade obtained in the final exam (maximum of 6 points), that is to say, his continuous evaluation grade will not be added.
Extraordinary second chance for recovery
In the second extraordinary opportunity of recovery, the same evaluation system will be applied as in the first opportunity. That is, there will be a new final exam with the weighting established for the first opportunity, which will be added to the score achieved in the continuous evaluation.
Students who have been granted dispensation from attendance following the Instruction No. 1/2017 of the General Secretariat on the dispensation of class attendance in certain circumstances, will be evaluated with a specific final exam that will account for 100% of the qualification. This exam will be face-to-face.
The course is of 6 credits.
The 150 hours of total work are distributed as follows:
a) Face-to-face sessions for presentation of basic contents, practical activities, etc.: 12 hours
b) Tutorials in small groups (physical attendance or by MS Teams): 6 hours
b) Face-to-face exam: 3 hours
c) Autonomous work of the student: 129 hours.
In order to maximize learning, it is recommended that students, before each classroom session, have previously reviewed the didactic materials of the corresponding subject according to the course schedule. On the other hand, it is important that they actively participate in all the activities proposed by the teachers and consult the bibliography and other recommended material.
Tutorials are a useful resource that students should use as often as necessary. Access to the virtual campus and institutional e-mail is essential to get information on different issues throughout the course.
