The subject will be taught in blended learning using the corporate platforms of the USC: Moodle (Virtual Campus) and MS Teams. The study and learning of this subject will be supported by the following activities:
1. Autonomous study by the students of the didactic materials corresponding to each thematic unit, which the teaching staff will make available to the students on the Virtual Campus.
2. Students will carry out practical activities, preferably of an individual nature. In this sense, several practical cases will be proposed to be developed throughout the course and must be delivered on the corresponding dates in accordance with the established schedule. The information and delivery of these activities will be articulated through the Virtual Campus.
3. Face-to-face sessions: These sessions, which will be held according to the timetable established by the Faculty, will be held in the corresponding classroom and will be broadcast synchronously via streaming. Consequently, students will be able to attend them either physically or by connecting through MS Teams. In these sessions, a brief review of the general contents of each thematic unit will be carried out and other complementary activities to those carried out individually by the students will be developed, aimed at encouraging the participation and sharing of the whole group.
The autonomous work of the students will be guided by the teacher in the hours set aside for tutorials. These tutorials will be developed preferably through the MSTeams platform.
The evaluation will take into account all the activities carried out by the students (active participation in the analysis of cases, activities, debates; commentary on readings, articles or news in the press; completion and presentation of work; examination of content, etc.).
For cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Student Academic Performance Evaluation and Grade Review Regulations will be applied.
There are two opportunities to pass the subject. Students who do not pass the subject on the first opportunity will have the right to a second one, which will be the one that appears on their academic record if the grade obtained is higher. The evaluation system for these two opportunities is shown below.
First ordinary opportunity. Continuous assessment combined with a final test is envisaged.
1. Continuous assessment: resolution and participation in the analysis of cases, debates, completion and presentation of assignments, questionnaires and other activities.
Weight in the final grade: 40%.
The evaluable activities will be listed in the virtual classroom as well as their weighting.
The following competences will be assessed in this part: CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5, CG1, CG2, CG6, CT4, CT5, CT6, CT11, CT12, CE2, CE3, CE11.
2. Final content exam: compulsory test in which the learning outcomes will be assessed, and which may include short answer questions, multiple choice questions, short reasoning questions, or cases (real or invented) to which students must provide a solution, based on the theoretical content of the subject and/or on the skills/competences developed throughout the four-month period.
Weight in the final grade: 60%.
The following competences will be assessed in this part: CB1, CB5, CG1, CG2, CT5.
The final exam will be face-to-face.
Students who do not obtain any marks linked to the activities carried out for the continuous assessment will only be able to obtain a maximum of 6 points. In order to be able to add the marks obtained in the continuous assessment to the mark for the exam/content test, students must achieve a minimum mark of 3 points out of 6 in the final content exam. The aggregate mark must be equal to or higher than 5 points out of 10 to pass the subject.
Second extraordinary opportunity
In the second opportunity, the same evaluation system will be applied as in the first opportunity. In other words, there will be a new final exam with the weighting established for the first opportunity, which will be added to the marks obtained in the continuous assessment during the course. The continuous assessment qualification obtained during the four-month period will be maintained for this call, but in no case for subsequent years.
In accordance with the Permanence Regulations in force at the USC for Bachelor and Master studies (art. 5.2), the mere attendance and/or participation in any of the activities subject to assessment will mean that the student's final mark will be other than NOT PRESENTED.
In accordance with the "Regulations for the development of blended learning in the Faculty of Business Administration and Management" approved by the Xunta de Facultad de Administración y Dirección de Empresas on 13/09/2021, attendance at 80% of the face-to-face sessions will be compulsory. In the event that students do not meet this minimum, they will lose the right to continuous assessment, which will be graded with a zero regardless of the grade achieved.
The aggregate mark for the continuous assessment and the final exam will be recorded in the minutes, with the following exceptions. If the student does not achieve the minimum mark in the exam (3 out of 6), the mark that will appear in the minutes will be the mark achieved in this test, and the continuous assessment will not be added. If the student does not take the final exam, the mark in the minutes will be zero, the continuous assessment will not be added.
Students who have been granted dispensation from class attendance following the Instruction nº 1/2017 of the General Secretary's Office on the dispensation from class attendance in certain circumstances, will be assessed with a specific final exam that will account for 100% of the mark.
The subject is 4.5 credits.
The total working hours are distributed as follows: Hours of lectures and interactive classes, tutorials and assessment: 41.
Students' personal work: 71.5.
Continuous follow-up of the expositive and interactive sessions and active participation in the classes are recommended, as well as the resolution of the practical cases and the consultation of the bibliography and other recommended material. The access to the virtual campus to be informed of different questions that arise throughout the course and to be able to have complementary material, facilitates the participation of the students and their capacity to acquire knowledge.
It is advisable to read the general and economic press frequently, looking for news related to the subject.
The revision of the corrections made by the teachers of the works presented and the raising of the existing doubts, is useful to improve those questions that the students did not develop adequately.
Finally, the use of tutorials should solve any type of problem or doubt that may arise during the teaching-learning process.
In the case of not passing the subject, students are advised to review the work carried out to understand the mistakes made.
