The BUSC offers the university community a training plan aimed at deepening knowledge of library services and information resources, as well as offering learning tools to locate, select, use and disseminate all types of information resources appropriately (information skills).

The University Library has a series of training activities and resources to achieve this aim:

  • Presentation sessions: held at the beginning of the academic year and aimed mainly at new students, to explain how to access the library (opening hours, reader's card...) and the services it offers (loans, reading room, computers...).
  • Introductory courses: aimed at the entire university community, the aim of these courses is to provide an in-depth knowledge of the main library services.
  • Specialist courses: mainly aimed at second and third cycle students. Aimed at training and informing users about the information resources available at the University Library in the different subject areas of teaching and research: databases, e-journals, e-books, special catalogues, resources accessible via the Internet, etc.
  • Courses on demand: teaching and learning support courses that the library programmes on demand for specific groups of users (groups of students, teachers, etc.). The group of users interested in training on a subject or thematic area should contact the library to outline the course content, timetable, technological infrastructure required, etc.
