  • Following the guidelines for similar postgraduate courses that are promoted both nationally and internationally, and in line with previous postgraduate studies on this subject carried out over the last decade at USC, this master's degree analyzes three of the main training pathways by which the incorporation of psychology into the sports environment is required: (1) psychological counseling for athletes and coaches in the field of grassroots sport (2) psychological preparation of athletes and coaches for high performance and (3) promotion of the adherence and maintenance of physical activity (through personalized schemes) as a preventive and rehabilitative health habit.
The master's degree consists of two academic years and is designed to be compatible with any other academic or professional activity.
The first course will be mainly theoretical, with classes at the Faculty of Psychology, grouped into a single weekly session, which will take place on Monday afternoons, with the possibility of monitoring the sessions online for reasons of work, other studies, residence in another community or country, distance, or for any other reason that prevents attendance to class.
And the second year will be above all practical, with the possibility of carrying out internships in multiple collaborating entities such as Real Club Celta de Vigo, Deportivo de La Coruña, Sociedad Deportiva Compostela, Obradoiro CAB SAD, the Poio Fútbol Sala of Combarro, the Sports Psychology Office at Clinics On (Pontevedra), the Club Victoria de Santiago, the Noia Fútbol Sala, the Basket Base Club of Vilagarcía, or the Professional Soccer Center, in A Coruña . Internships are also allowed at any other Galician club or anywhere in Spain or other country in which the student is interested by proximity to their home or for any other personal reason. The direction of the master would be responsible for the procedures for the signing of the corresponding internship agreement.
In addition to the usual classes and internships, the master's degree includes complementary training activities such as an initiation module for sports research and the completion of a master's thesis.
