The aim of the internship is mainly to enable the connection between theoretical knowledge and knowledge worked on through case management and other tasks, with real work in companies, institutions or research teams.
The basic objective of this connection is to allow students to approach the labour market and increase their knowledge of it, as well as to provide them with a first experience and opportunity for insertion within the specific areas of their training.
Although this degree has a marked profile at the local level, this field can be approached by multi-level institutions and both public and private entities (for-profit or third sector). For this reason, the list of organizations in which to carry out internships is always evolving and tries to meet the diversity of student preferences.
The Master's Degree's external internship program seeks to promote the professional development and job placement of graduates, allowing them to apply and test the knowledge acquired during the course. Supervised by academic and external tutors, the program includes tasks in local administrations and consultancies, covering areas such as human resources, economic management, communication and data analysis. The activities are adjusted to the level of training and are specified in specific programs agreed with the collaborating entities, such as the design of evaluations and projects, assistance in administrative or organizational functions, communication management, databases, planning and programming or the preparation of reports, among others, equivalent to 9 ECTS credits.
It also offers the possibility of recognition of work experience and the option of doing internships in research groups or centres.
According to the profile of each destination entity chosen by the students, the thematic aspect and its functions will be of the most diverse, so it is not appropriate to include any type of documentation in this regard.
However, students will have the reference bibliography of the different specialized subjects that they will have taken before starting their internship, being able to go to it to solve any doubts in this regard.

Once the course starts, the internship coordinator will make a presentation and brief explanation of the internship, so that they have key information about it well in advance of the call.
Likewise, the forecast of the deadlines for the awarding of the same and requirements to promote them in entities that are of interest to the students will be communicated.
Once the assignment period has arrived, in the second semester, the enrolled students will be summoned to a public event for the award of the internships, and must apply for the places that interest them the most during the event or beforehand as communicated by the coordinator.
In this session, the order of choice will be that of the average grade obtained so far in the course, included in the academic record of each student.
Each person enrolled will be assigned an internal tutor (from the master's degree itself) and an external tutor (from the institution). The function of both roles is to supervise the development of the internships and provide an assessment of the students' performance in them, as well as to take responsibility for it and ensure the correct completion of the entire internship process.
Although the external tutor assesses the performance of the students he/she tutors, it will be the academic tutor who qualifies the internship as a whole. To this end, it will take into consideration several documents such as:
-Report of the internal tutor: the progress of the students during the internship period is assessed, as well as their participation in the tasks of the entity and the dedication and motivation shown.
-Report of the external tutor: the student's performance during the internship is assessed, as well as his/her sense of responsibility and commitment.
- Internship (final) report: Document in which you must delve into the main contents and tasks carried out, this being a document that allows you to synthesize the trajectory of the students within the entity in which they carry out their internship. Both the above and the explanation of the planning, the chronology of the same and where and at what times the different knowledge or skills worked on in the master's degree will be taken into account.
Its expository and argumentative quality will also be evaluated, as well as the correct structuring of the information provided.
To facilitate its drafting, a guide will be provided regarding its preparation.
Likewise, even if it does not count for the evaluation, students will be asked for a synthesis of the tasks and the general experience, which highlights the main aspects such as: the nature of the activities (main and complementary tasks) developed; the application of knowledge and skills acquired during the degree and their relationship with the subjects; performance (establishment of schedules, planning; quality of the work done); or, where appropriate, the incidents presented (difficulties/problems detected) and the general and overall assessment of the practices.
Without the receipt of all the above documentation it will not be possible to evaluate the students, so it is very important not to delay their delivery. From the academic tutoring, on the same date of completion of the internship, the evaluation report model will be sent so that the external tutor can rate the student's performance.
On the other hand, students must submit their report and evaluation in the days following the end of the internship. It is therefore recommended to anticipate some of these tasks before the auction so as not to delay the periods of correction and evaluation of them.
For the determination of the final grade, three components will therefore be taken into account, which will have different proportional weight on the grade, namely:
- Report from the external tutor.................................... 50%
- Report and Report of the internal tutor...................... 50%
According to the curriculum, the distribution of the effort of the students' dedication is as follows:
Internal tutorials: 2 hours External lathes: 8 hours
External internships: 205 hours
Preparation of the final report: 10 hours
Read carefully the internship calls that are published and responsibly follow the instructions of the tutors.
Obtaining the NIE for foreign students, as well as the NUSS, are two precise procedures for carrying out the internship. The registration and withdrawal dates associated with the days that students stay in external institutions are also very important since the entry into force of the new Royal Decree-Law 2/2023, of 16 March, we must respect the procedures with the utmost rigor.
Likewise, if you want to promote specific internships, communicate this intention to the internship coordinator as soon as possible in order to have enough time to carry out the new agreements.
