    This Master's degree covers the main cultural manifestations, both literary and artistic, in their historical context. We aim to provide a multidisciplinary specialization in the European Middle Ages. This Master’s is unique in the Spanish University System.

    The city of Santiago, the terminal point of the famous St. James’ Way and a UNESCO “World Heritage Site”, is excellently placed to offer a multidisciplinary, research-based Master’s degree in the field of medieval studies, and boasts a comprehensive curricular organization.

  • This Master's degree covers the main cultural manifestations, both literary and artistic, in their historical context. We aim to provide a multidisciplinary specialization in the European Middle Ages. This Master’s is unique in the Spanish University System.

  • - To offer a plural and integrating vision of medieval European culture in its diverse forms.
    - To capacitate the students to establish reciprocal relations between the main core elements that make up the Master: historical, artistic and linguistic-literary.
    - To capacitate the students to acquire exhaustive knowledge of the most relevant lines of research and critical proposals in the field of medieval studies.
    - To provide the students with the methodological and critical foundation which will allow them to access research activity through versatile and interdisciplinary training.
    - To capacitate the students to use new information and communication technology applied to the field of medieval studies, as well as show its use in practical research and in the dissemination of cultural heritage.
    - To provide the students with the basic skills to exploit and apply the acquired knowledge to the correct interpretation and distribution of the medieval cultural legacy.
    - To capacitate the students to open new paths of research in the field of medieval studies.
    - To make possible that the students’ work contributes to the development of European culture through the correct critical interpretation and the correct transmission of medieval European cultural heritage in its diverse manifestations.
    - To contribute to the cultural development of Galicia through the correct valuation, interpretation and contextualisation of its medieval legacy.

  • Mobility

    La movilidad de los/as estudiantes está regulada a través del “Reglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios”. A través de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con países de América Latina o países de habla inglesa): Portal Internacional

    Internships

    El alumnado podrá realizar optativamente prácticas en empresas e instituciones en una amplia y diversa oferta que le permitirán completar su formación y conseguir competencias profesionales según sus intereses.

    En la evaluación se tendrá en cuenta la actividad realizada por el alumnado en la empresa o institución en que realizó las prácticas. Para esto la persona que lo tutorice en la entidad remitirá un informe final de su actividad, y el alumno tendrá que elaborar un informe sobre su labor.

  • Una vez admitido en el Máster, el alumno contará, además de con el asesoramiento de la Coordinadora del mismo, con dos tutores en cada uno de los dos centros responsables de la iniciativa: Facultade de Filoloxía y Facultade de Xeografía e Historia.
