Management and Public Government

The public management takes care of the use of the means adapted to reach a collective aim. It deals with the mechanisms of decision for the allocation and distribution of the resources public, and of the coordination and stimulus of the agents public to obtain his objective groups. On the other hand, gobernance was used like synonymous of Political Directorate; nevertheless, its new attractive and corresponding semantic extension must to its capacity to include the totality of the institutions and relations implied in the government process, being tied the political system with its enviroment.

COMPETENCES OF THE DEGREE TO WHICH THE SUBJECT CONTRIBUTES

- Know how to identify, gather and interpret relevant data on economic issues, incorporating into the elaboration of judgments and proposals the pertinent considerations on their social, scientific or ethical dimension
- Know how to identify information, ideas, problems and proposals for solutions to issues of an economic nature, making use of both verbal and written language, as well as the means and techniques of representation of the relationship and presentation of data that are used in economics.
- Possess the general knowledge of economics and the learning skills necessary to continue studying and to undertake specialisation studies in economics and other related areas, with a high degree of autonomy.
- Knowledge of the national and international economic reality, productive sectors, public sector, economic institutions and their evolution.
- Public economy: nature, justification and objectives of public sector intervention in the economy: public finance, taxation, social services, health, education, etc. The development of economic policies.
- Contribute to the good management of the allocation of resources, both in the private and public spheres
- Acquisition of skills related to management by objectives and project management

SPECIFIC COMPETENCES OF THE SUBJECT

For the development of the program of the subject the teachers combines the teaching method of the exhibition class, which aims at the complete, systematic and orderly presentation of the content of the topics and head
ings described above; along with interactive classes, which require the participation and active work of students. After the theoretical exposure, different exercises are proposed, some of which require computer support, with the intention of combining the use of the software with theoretical learning, without getting lost in automations.

Students must manage the application of the virtual classroom and Teams, through which material will be shared, tests will be carried out, etc. It is essential that all enrolled people activate their RAI user and have computer access through the USC (http://www.rai.usc.es/).

The assessment of students in this area is through a process of continuous evaluation that takes into account all activities to be performed throughout the semester considering aspects such as the clarity and display capacity, the domain of terminology inherent to the subject or active participation with a final assessment weight 70% and a final examination focused primarily on assessing the knowledge gained weight in the final evaluation 30%.

In any case, in order to be approved, students must take both a relevant percentage of the continuous assessment and the final exam. It will not be possible to obtain the approval without carrying out the final test.

Students with waiver of clase attendance, repeters or interchange students with have to pass a final exam equivalent to 100% cualification.

It is recommended to constantly monitor the lectures and the reading of the basic and additional bibliography identified by teachers as the program develops.

The development of jobs and the decision or case studies approach will be one of the elements to which students must pay more attention to the fact that the most accurate study of the subject passes through transfer of knowledge acquired in lectures to making the above decision or approach works and case studies.
