TUTORIAL PROGRAM (2 H)

The first day of class, the teacher will present the subject, the assessment system for new and repeating students and will give some recommendations for organizing the study. Also, the teacher will answer the doubts reaised by the students (1 H).

In the second hour of tutoring, students in small groups will solve exercises to prepar for the exam. The students must solve the exercises proposed by the teacher and correct them following her/his instructions. (1 H)

EXAM (3H)

The exam will consist of multiple choice and/or questions that will require answers of a greater or lesser lengths and problem solving.

• Theoretical classes
In-person master classes, where the teacher will explain the concepts of the subject with the support of audiovisual and computer media. The students will have the PowerPoint presentations for each of the topics of the theoretical program in the Virtual Campus. Three sessions of master classes per week will be complemented by seminars sessions.

Two topics, 6 Genetic Code and 11 Inheritance of Mitochondrial DNA, will be prepared by students following the Flipped Classroom modality. The first topic will be carried out through collaborative learning in the classroom with the presence and advice of the teacher and the second topic will be prepared by the students as they considere appropiate, in groups or individually, but during private study hours. In this case they may request the office tutorials to solve doubts about the topic.

• Seminars
In-person sessions and in small groups. The teacher will provide, through the virtual Campus and with sufficient notice, bulletins with questions and unresolved problems related to the different topics of the program. The students will try to solve the bulletins before the sessions and autonomously in order to gauge their progress on the subject. In the Seminars, the teacher will address the doubts raised by the students.

• Practices
The practice will deal with genetic analysis methods in an experimental way that will complement the concepts developed in the theoretical classes. The students will have a script and will carry out the practices following the indications of the same with the supervision of the professor. At the end of the practices, students will discuss with the professor the results obtained. Students are required to wear a lab coat and have their hair tied up.

• Tutorials
Presentation of the subjet (1H);in the second hour of tutorials, students will carry out an exam preparation activity, in small groups. They will solve integration exercises of the subject and correct them following the teacher's instruction(1H)

• Office tutorials
Students may request individualized tutorials to resolve doubts about the subject. They must request an appointment via email to set the date and time. If necessary, the USC Microsoft Teams telematics tool can be used. Doubts will not be answered by email, as it is an inappropriate tool for this purpose.

The attendance at these activities is not mandatory.

The final score will be a weighted average of the qualifications obtained by the students in the different assessable teaching activities according to the following scale:

- THEORETICAL EXAM One final written exam, test type and/or questions of variable length. Also the students must solve some problem (Theoretical classes, seminars and flipped classroom)
70% final score. Mandatory evaluable activity complementary to continuous assessment.

-QUESTIONNAIRE: Test type. One questionnaire will be done aproximately in the middle of the course to assess the progress made in the topics indicated by the teacher (Theoretical class, flipped classroom and seminars)
20% final score. Non -mandatory assessable activity.

- PRACTICES: 10% final score. Non-mandatory assessable activity.

- TUTORIALS: . Non-mandatory and non assessable activity.


SECOND CHANCE EVALUATION:

Students must take the final theoretical test; The continuous evaluation grade will be kept: practices and questionnaire


REPEATING STUDENTS: It is not mandatory to repeat the Practices as long as they are the same. In case of change, the students will be informed through the Virtual Campus so that those repeaters who want to have these qualifications know that they must take them.
The questionaires qualifications will no be kept. It is recommended that repeating students take the questionaires, otherwise they will have a zero in that activity

EXPLANATORY NOTES:


SCALE: To pass the subject, a minimum of 5.0 points (scale from 0 to 10) must be obtained in the final exam. Otherwise, the final qualification will be that of the exam. The scores obtained in the Practices and Questionnaire will be counted as long as the theory has been approved.

THEORETHICAL CLASSES: Attendance is not compulsory.
QUESTIONNAIRE: Attendance is not compulsory
SEMINARS: Attendance is not compulsory.

QUESTIONNAIRES, PRACTICES AND TUTORIALS: Attendance is not compulsory. In the call for the second opportunity, the qualifications obtained in the first opportunity are maintained.

EXAM And QUETIONNAIRES DATES: No exams will be held on alternative dates to the official ones. Likewise, questionnaires will not be carried out on alternative dates to those scheduled.

GROUP CHANGES: In practices, tutorials and seminars, group changes may be made whenever there is another student from another group with whom to change. These changes must be previously communicated by e-mail to the teacher responsible for the activity who must authorize the change.

TOTAL VOLUME OF WORK:
53 h of in person classes and 97 h of personal work = 150 total hours.

• Attend all activities and ask questions that may arise.
• Make problem and question bulletins once the theory of each topic has been completed.
• Use the office tutorials and/or on-line tutorials (MS-temas) to resolve any question on the subject.
• Consult sources of scientific information (databases, books, magazines, web pages, etc.) that will enrich the perspective and casuistry treated during the development of the classes.
• Continuous study based on the understanding of concepts.

• A virtual classroom will be operational on the Moodle platform available to students.

• In cases of fraudulent completion of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the evaluation of the academic performance of students and the review of qualifications will apply.

• The recording of the classes and the distribution of the material provided in the teaching of the subject (PowerPoint presentations, bulletins of questions and problems, etc.) to third parties, by whatever means, is prohibited.
