The subject "Professional Classroom" is framed in the second semester of the 4th year of the Degree in Chemical Engineering. With this activity it is intended that the students complement their scientific and technical training, which is previously covered in other subjects of the title, with a series of activities or seminars. These activities and seminars will help the students to improve their training in a number of transversal-like skills, that facilitate their successful integration into the world of work, not only from a professional but also personal point of view.
The Professional Classroom subject does not have a rigid structure in terms of content or teaching, but students can freely choose within a series of activities in which they wish to improve their training. For this, the Professional Classroom will offer two possibilities: a) the company internship; b) attendance at courses, seminars and workshops. Some examples of the latter are: preparation of C.V., workshop for effective presentations, writing of technical reports, patent seminar, presentations by business professionals, etc.
Lecturers from both the Center and the USC will be encouraged to propose the activities to be carried out within the framework of the Professional Classroom. They must submit a proposal to the Coordinator of the Professional Classroom, who will examine and assess them in order to include them or not as recognized activities within this subject.
There is no single bibliography but it will depend on the courses, seminars and workshops that are organized each year.

To this end, a schedule will be offered for each academic year. A lecturer will be the academic responsible for each of the activities offered, who will ensure compliance and make the corresponding evaluation.
The Professional Classroom Coordinator will have the mission of evaluating and confirming that each of the proposed activities meets the requirements to be included in the Professional Classroom. In addition, both Center, USC and professional lecturers will be encouraged to propose activities to be carried out within the framework of the Professional Classroom.
The students enrolled in the activity will have information not only on the activities offered, but also on their time planning, through the announcement panel dedicated to the Professional Classroom, the degree and center web pages. Each activity carried out will entail a series of hours of face-to-face seminars or workshops (CG4, CG11, CT7, CT11, CT14, CT20), which the student must attend, as well as hours of work and activities to be carried out outside the classroom (CG1, CT9, CT10, CT12, CT13, CT17, CT18, CT19).
The learning process will be monitored by carrying out activities and work by the student individually and / or by group in which the course content and the level of general and transversal skills achieved in each course will be evaluated. The course rapporteurs will notify a proposal of qualification to the Coordinator of the Professional Classroom who will finally be the one who determines the final qualification.
In cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the evaluation of student academic performance and the review of qualifications will apply.
The subject has a workload of 6 ECTS, corresponding 1 ECTS credit to 25 hours of total work.
