The University Senate

The University Senate is the highest representative body of the university community. The University Senate is elected every four years. The representation of the student body is renewed every two years.

Composition

It consists of:

  • The chancellor
  • The general secretary 
  • The manager 
  • 300 representatives of the different sectors of the university community, elected by universal, free, equal, direct and secret vote, with the following distribution: 51% of teaching staff with permanent ties; 11% of members of the other categories of teaching and research staff; 28% of students; 10% of administrative and service staff.
