    Mandatory insurance:
    20,69€ (Students who formally enroll in their own Postgraduate courses, Continuous Training and Training Program, will also be included the amount of mandatory accident insurance and travel assistance for USC students, as established in current regulations (Council Agreement Government June 29, 2009) and will be issued together with the 1st liquidation of registration. Except in the courses that are 100% virtuous, considered these by academic year; and in the cases in which the students have paid this same insurance in a USC degree in the current academic year.)

  • - Develop skills that made part of the meta-scientific competences for addressing socio-scientific issues spread by media for promoting responsible citizenship.
    - Developing competences for inclusive learning settings at secondary education.
    - Integrating critical thinking in socio-scientific designs for media information management.
    - Developing digital and media literacy skills in learning situations linked to socio-scientific contexts.

    The methodology will be active and participative, combining online activities with face-to-face activities in which the participants will be the protagonists of their learning. Designs developed within the framework of the ScilMi project will be presented. These designs integrate meta-scientific literacies with keys for their development at secondary classroom. The students of this course will actively participate in the analysis of these designs and in the preparation of new proposals that aim to be transferred to secondary education classrooms in different European secondary schools. The activities will be carried out in small groups in a collaborative way, being the role of teacher guiding or mediating their learning, providing scaffolding to achieve the competences that are intended to be fostered.

  • Evaluation

    The evaluation of the three meta-scientific competencies developed in the course, using different assessment tools as individual questionnaires and the activities.

    Tutoring

    The course is organized into three subjects that correspond to three meta-scientific competences: 1) Inclusion; 2) Information, communication and civic education; 3) Critical thinking. Each subject will integrate theoretical content on each meta-scientific competence and practical content that will include models and teaching materials that participants can analyze in order to develop designs and teaching materials that allow promoting meta-scientific competences in the secondary classroom, taking into account the challenges related to disinformation in the post-truth era in the secondary classroom.

  • From 9.00 until 17:00 h

    Observations

    The course will be hybrid, with online and onsite training. The onsite sessions are from June 9th til June 13th 2025, while the rest of the teaching hours of the teaching period (20/03/2025 - 26/06/2025) will be online.
