Catalysis

At the end of the course the students are expected to:
-Know the concept, types and applications of heterogeneous catalysis, the physical and chemical phenomena derived from adsorption on surfaces and the associated reactivity
-Know the concepts of homogeneous catalysis (organometallic and organocatalysis), the basic stages of the reactions of organometallic complexes and the fundamental principles of organocatalysis and some interesting synthetic applications.
- Know the concepts and methods of biocatalysis, its different types and applications of interest.
- Know the physical-chemical principles inherent in the kinetics of catalyzed reactions (steady state, adsorption, speed equations, temperature dependence, etc.).
- Read and critically interpret current scientific works, with understanding and explanation of their content and significance.
