The Master's Dissertation (MD) will be carried out in the field of general sanitary psychology and may be related to any of the topics dealt with in the subjects of the degree. In it students must demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the whole of the degree to carry out investigations, assessments and psychological interventions on those aspects of the behavior and activity of people that influence the promotion and improvement of their general state of Health.
In the event that it is carried out within the framework of health research of the Master's teaching staff, it must also allow the acquisition of the skills, techniques, knowledge, analytical and critical skills necessary for the adequate performance of the future professional.
The MD may include an empirical or experimental part, the design of a protocol or intervention proposal, or case analysis (evaluations, psychological reports). The student must perform and present a project demonstrating the competences acquired throughout the studies. Will include, bibliographic search and review tasks, critical analysis, systematization and information integration, writing and oral and written presentation.

The TFM is oriented to the development and evaluation of the competences of the degree assigned to the subject. It consists of the realization, by the student, of a project, memory or original protocol, which must be developed individually and autonomously under the guidance and supervision of a tutor.
The student must demonstrate the skills acquired throughout the studies. It will include tasks of bibliographic search and review, critical analysis, systematization and integration of information, writing and oral presentation and writing.
The TFM will follow the format that will be specified according to the chosen modality:
(la)Theoretical review work with practical contribution. It will consist of a systematized search for relevant information on a specific topic of current interest in health psychology, and must also include a practical proposal in line with the review carried out;
b) Empirical or experimental study. This is a research project that should be written and structured following the format of a scientific article with the consequent practical contribution;
c) Case analysis. In this modality of TFM, all the necessary steps for the best understanding and follow-up of the case/s should be presented, in a general way: design and contextualization, information gathering, information analysis and evaluation;
d) Intervention program. The detailed description of an intervention proposal that due to its unique characteristics (novelty, usefulness, innovation, etc.) may represent a contribution of interest to the professional field to which it is applicable should be provided.
Regarding the formal aspects, the TFM will have an extension between a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 70 pages (including bibliography). Annexes will not be taken into account. The line spacing will be 1.5; font type Times New Roman and font size 12 points. A smaller font size will be allowed in tables and figures (10-11 points). The page margins should be 2.5 cm (at the top, bottom, left, and right). The APA norms of the last published edition will be followed for in-text citations and bibliographical references.
The three printed copies that are deposited in the administration of the Faculty of Psychology (art. 7.2 of the Regulations for Master's Thesis of the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology), for the evaluation by the tribunal, must be bound.
Throughout the tutoring process, at least 3 meetings will be held between the tutor and the student and the date of delivery of the final draft will be agreed according to the expected date of presentation. The work will be carried out in a planned, gradual and sequenced manner from the beginning of the academic year.
The presentation of the TFM will have a duration of 15 minutes per student. The Tribunal, formed by three members, will be able to ask as many questions and issues as it deems appropriate in relation to the work defended in a time of approximately 15 minutes.
Learning evaluation system
The TFM will be evaluated by means of the public defense of the work before a Tribunal composed of three professors, appointed by the Degree Committee from among the Master's faculty, in accordance with the corresponding regulations.
The competences associated with the development of the work, the final report and the defense of the TFM will be evaluated. The final qualification of the work will correspond jointly to the tutor and the examining board and will be awarded according to the rubrics established for this purpose. The competences of the subject are summarized in the following items for the purposes of evaluation in the rubric (the items will be evaluated by the tutor of the TFM and/or the second corresponding tribunal):
1- To be able to organize, plan and time the work.
2- Be able to manage and select information (computerized databases, library resources, data analysis tools, etc.).
3- To be able to integrate the information and/or data collected with the knowledge acquired throughout the studies.
4- To show personal involvement and autonomy to develop the work.
5- To be able to adequately formulate the title, objectives and interest of the work.
6- To be able to structure the work in an orderly and coherent manner.
7- To know how to use the appropriate methodology to achieve the objectives.
8- To be able to describe clearly and precisely the results and conclusions according to the formulated objectives.
9- Demonstrate the ability to critically analyze the information, identifying the main limitations of the work and proposing suggestions for the future.
10- To know how to adapt the formal aspects of an academic work.
11- To know how to make a correct oral presentation of the work, following a logical and orderly sequence.
12- To know how to clearly expose the main results and conclusions of the work.
13- To be able to efficiently manage the time available for the presentation.
14- To be able to answer adequately the questions that are formulated.
The final grade will be weighted as follows:
Final grade = Final grade of the tutor * 0.40 + grade of the examining board * 0.60.
The student is solely responsible for the originality of the authorship of his/her work. The detection, by the tutor or by the Court, of the existence of plagiarism, will be sufficient cause for the failure of the subject.
The Degree Committee, once the last opportunity for defense has been exhausted, will award the Honorable Mentions among those students whose grade is equal to or higher than 9, after being ordered according to the numerical grade obtained. In case of a tie, the average grade of the academic record will be taken into account.
Each Tribunal will make public the qualifications once the presentations and evaluations of the corresponding works have been completed. At the moment of the publication of the qualification, the panel will set a date for the review.
