The course will be taught in blended learning using as support the corporate platforms of the USC: Moodle (Virtual Campus) and MS Teams. The study and learning of this course will be supported by the following activities:
(a) Autonomous study by the students of the didactic materials corresponding to each thematic unit, which the faculty will make available to the students in the Virtual Campus.
(b) Performance by the students of practical activities, preferably of an individual nature. In this sense, several practical cases will be proposed to be developed throughout the course and must be delivered on the corresponding dates according to the established schedule. The information and delivery of these activities will be articulated through the Virtual Campus.
(c) Active participation of students in collaborative activities (e.g., discussion forums). These discussion forums will allow students to express their views and opinions, seeking interaction and shared debate.
(d) Face-to-face sessions: These sessions, which will be developed according to the schedules established by the Faculty, will be given in the corresponding classroom and will be broadcast synchronously in streaming. Consequently, students will be able to attend them either physically or by connecting through MS Teams. In these sessions a brief review of the general contents of each thematic unit will be carried out and other complementary activities will be developed to those carried out individually by the students and oriented to encourage the participation and sharing of the whole group.
The autonomous work of the students will be guided by the teacher in the hours destined to tutorials. These tutorials will be developed preferably through the MS Teams platform.
The evaluation of the subject will be carried out in the following way:
- Continuous evaluation: analysis of cases, delivery of exercises, assignments, continuous evaluation tests, active participation in the Virtual Classroom, etc. Weight in the final grade: 50%.
- Final exam. Weight in the final grade: 50%.
These two parts that make up the students' grade will be applied in the two oportunities, so that the score obtained in the continuous evaluation (50%) will be maintained for the July oportunity.
In order to pass the course, the student must obtain a grade higher or equal to five (out of ten) in the exam, and a grade higher or equal to five (out of ten) in the continuous evaluation. If either or both of these minimums are not passed, the final grade will only take into account the higher of the two grades.
The list of competencies to be evaluated in this subject is detailed below:
- Continuous evaluation: CB2; CB3; CB4; CB5; CG7; CT4; CT5; CT10; SC3; CE5; CE6; CE10; CE13.
- Final exam: CG1; CB1; CT5; CE2; CE3; CE2; CE3
In the evaluation, in addition to the acquisition of knowledge, aspects such as the appropriate use of the techniques and tools of the subject, the clarity and expository capacity, the mastery of the terminology of the subject or the active participation will be considered.
According to the "Regulamento para o desenvolvemento da docencia semipresencial na Facultade de Administración e Dirección de Empresas" approved by the Xunta de Facultade de Administración e Dirección de Empresas on 13/09/2021, attendance to at least 75% of the face-to-face sessions will be mandatory. In case the student does not meet this minimum, he/she will lose the right to continuous assessment, which will be graded with a zero regardless of the grade achieved. Students who are granted dispensation from attendance following the Instruction N. 1/2017, of the General Secretariat, on the dispensation of class attendance in certain circumstances will be evaluated with a specific final exam that will account for 100% of the final grade.
For cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations on the evaluation of the academic performance of students and grade review will apply.
For repeating students, the evaluation system will be the same, with the possibility, at the teacher's discretion, of keeping the positive evaluation of activities from the previous year.
The course is 4.5 credits. The 112.5 hours of total work are distributed as follows:
a) Face-to-face sessions for presentation of basic contents, practical activities, etc.: 9 hours.
b) Tutorials in small groups (physical attendance or by MS Teams): 4 hours.
c) On-site exam: 3 hours
d) Autonomous work of the student: 96.5 hours.
In order to maximize learning, it is recommended that students, before each classroom session, have previously reviewed the didactic materials of the corresponding subject according to the course schedule. On the other hand, it is important that they actively participate in all the activities proposed by the teachers and consult the bibliography and other recommended material.
Tutorials are a useful resource that students should use as often as necessary. Access to the virtual campus and institutional mail is essential to be informed about different issues throughout the course.
