The Laser Laboratory for Acceleration and Other Applications (L2A2) is a research infrastructure equipped with a STELA laser (Santiago TErawatt Laser), which provides ultrashort femtosecond pulses (25 fs) with an energy of 1.2 J and 1010 contrast. The facility also has several experimental vacuum chambers, particle detection systems, a high-precision microprocessing system and several beam diagnostic systems. Some of its applications are proton acceleration, radioisotope production, high order harmonic production, nanoparticle production, materials processing, etc.
