The students should
• be able to analyse scientific texts regarding the topics, to formulate technical questions and find solutions to these problems during discussions
• improve communicating skills by presenting the results of the technical analyses to the other participants in an intelligible way
• improve communication with the fellow students
• practice leading a seminar discussion and answering questions regarding the topic

1. Termin:
The teachers choose one of the following:
a) 90-minute final exam on the contents of the seminar
or
b) presentation in class plus a brief paper (10-15 pages)
or
c) longer paper (15-20 pages)
2. Termin: The assessment on the second opportunity will be based on the same criteria.
For students who are offically exempt from attending: final exam (100%).
Academic misconduct (cheating, plagiarism in exercises or tests) will be penalized according to the University regulations on student assessment (“Normativa de avaliación do rendemento académico dos estudantes e de revisión de cualificacións”).Attendance: max. 35 h.
Requirements for participation:Students must obtain 25 ECTS in the first semester
Elective module in the second semester.
