After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Design a research project on management of tourism enterprises.
- Explain the requirements for the measurement scales of the constructs used in the research.
- Design a survey and treat the data using various statistical programs employed in research in tourism business management.
- Interpret results and draw relevant conclusions.
- List and use the main research database in management of tourism enterprises.
- Describe the structure that a research paper must have to be published in an impact journal (JCR).
- Name the influential journals in management of tourism enterprises.
- Explain the publication process in influential journals in management of tourism enterprises.
The contents will be developed during the course are reflected in the descriptor of the subject in the curriculum of the Master.

Face-to-face teaching. In the theoretical classes the teacher will develop the program, explaining concepts and topics. The computer and the projector cannon will be used as main supports, projecting presentations and different materials that serve as a guide to the explanations made. In the theoretical classes the blackboard, printed articles or any other information necessary to expand knowledge and clarify doubts will also be used. The interactive sessions may involve the analysis of research articles, resolution of exercises and practical cases, and preparation of research material. Interaction with the student is essential to achieve the desired learning. Tutorials can be face-to-face or virtual (via email or the corporate platform MS ’Teams).
This subject has a Virtual Classroom.
The evaluation will take into account all the activities carried out by the students under the teacher's request. The corresponding score in this continuous evaluation will suppose 50% of the final grade and will be kept for the July opportunity but not for repeaters. The final exam will account for the remaining 50% of the grade. To pass the subject there are two opportunities. Students who do not pass the subject at the first opportunity will be entitled to a second, which will be the one that appears in their academic record in the event that the grade obtained is higher.
To pass the subject, students must attend at least 80% of the scheduled classroom teaching activities.
The evaluation will be carried out as follows:
- Final theoretical and practical test: face-to-face on the dates and times set in the final tests calendar.
- Continuous assessment: telematic delivery (through the virtual campus) and face-to-face resolution.
Students who are granted a class attendance waiver (following Instruction No. 1/2017 of the General Secretariat on the waiver of class attendance in certain circumstances), will be evaluated with a specific final exam that will mean 100% of the grade.
For cases of fraudulent performance of exercises or tests, the “Regulations for evaluating student academic performance and reviewing grades” will apply.

Final exam: CG3, CE15, CE16, CT3
The subject’s workload is 3 ECTS.
Contact hours 27 h.
Hours of personal work: 48 h.
To prepare the course the students should work during the year, keep the theoretical concepts up to date, use the support material provided and keep a constant communication with the teacher.
