Internships in public or private companies or entities will be regulated, in addition to the official study regulations, by Real decreto 592/2014, of July 11, which regulates external academic internships for university students, by External work placement Regulations_USC and by agreements that are signed in accordance with the regulations for the management of USC agreements, as well as by the calls themselves and other general applicable provisions.
The student will carry out stays of four weeks duration, where they will be linked to the systematic work of the destination company/centre, carrying out the internships in a supervised manner, with a reference academic tutor.
The PROFESSIONAL TUTOR will score the work done by the student as well as the reflection of the work in the practicum report. In addition, the tutor will authorise the presentation of the memory to the academic tutor. Specifically the professional tutor will score the following points (referred to the generic and specific competences):
1. Technical ability and for learning: (0 to 10)
2. Attitude and initiative of resolution: (0 to 10)
3. Skills of communication (oral and/or written): (0 to 10)
4. Capacity of work in a team and respect in the workplace: (0 to 10)
5. Punctuality: (0 to 10)
6. Reflection of the activity in the practicum report: (0 to 10)
ACADEMIC TUTOR
The student will present to the academic tutor the practicum report. The report done by the student must contain a description of the activities taken place and include the following sections: (1) Introduction in which the centre where the practice is carried out is described in detail; (2) Description of the activities that have taken place; (3) Development of at least 1 clinical cases or procedures (clinical, laboratory, control protocols, etc., depending on the practice done) with correct structure and adequate discussion; and (4) Personal evaluation and final conclusion of the experience of this practice for the personal training of the student. The report must have a maximum of 15 pages (excluding annexes), DIN A4, written in Times New Roman or similar, size 11 and line spacing of 1.5. The editorial work will we considered.
The academic tutor will base his evaluation in the quality of the report and the student´s made the most during the practicum, and not in the number of activities realised, since this depends of the volume of work of the centre and not of the student. The score will be of 0 to 10 points (see specific evaluation sheet).
The FINAL QUALIFICATION will be the arithmetical average of the score of the professional tutor and the the academic tutor. If the qualification awarded by the professional tutor or by the academic tutor is lower of 5 points the course will be failed and the final qualification will.
For cases of fraudulent use of exercises or tests, the provisions of the Regulations for the evaluation of students' academic performance and the review of qualifications will apply.
Excuses from class will not be accepted.

To enroll in this subject, students must have passed 150 credits (50% credits of the degree), of which there will be at least 69 credits of basic training and 81 credits of compulsory training; all of them of 1st, 2nd and 3rd course of the Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
