Docentia Programme Assessment of the teaching staff

The Docentia Programme takes the recommendations for Quality Assurance in Higher Education institutions prepared by ENQA (European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) as a reference in its document called Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.

Among the aforementioned criteria and guidelines is the one on Quality Assurance of Teaching Staff, which establishes that institutions must have the means to guarantee that their teaching staff are qualified and competent for teaching.

In assessing the quality assurance of the teaching staff, a fundamental element is the performance of their teaching activity. Thus, knowing how the teacher plans, develops, assesses and improves their teaching activity is key to making a judgement about their teaching competence.

USC developed a pilot application of the programme between 2008 and 2012, and is resuming its implementation in the 2021-22 academic year.
