- Know the complications arising from delays in care
- Prevent complications in urgent and critical patients

Transfer to clinical practice, in the units, of the contents reflected in the common subjects and specifically in those related to the subjects linked to the clinical specialty of Emergencies, emergencies, and major disasters and Critical Patient Management.

- Understand the mechanisms by which diseases can lead to a life-threatening situation.
- Familiarize yourself with urgent and emerging pathology.
- Develop activities for assessing, caring for, and evaluating the individuals you attend to in specific states, stages of life, and special risk situations, applying appropriate procedures at each moment.

-Practical training and clinical sessions: The student in the collaborating entities acquires and applies knowledge and skills that complement their academic training for the exercise of professional activities.

-Preparation of the Final Report of the practical training. Teaching methodology useful for assessing the ability to synthesize and prioritize all the activities carried out.

Continuous and/or final assessment:
-Degree of compliance with the planning in the unit Degree of acquisition of skills and competencies 90%.
-Practicum report/Other (other activities carried out by the student): 10%.

The Organic Law 1/1996 on the legal protection of minors, modified by Law 26/2015 and Law 45/2015 on volunteering, establishes the obligation to present negative certificates from the Central Register of Sexual Offenders for all professionals and volunteers who work in regular contact with minors.To comply with this regulation, students intending to enroll in "practices (Practicum)" and "internships in companies" from institutions in contact with minors must present this certification along with their enrollment.If not presented, the internships cannot be carried out!

Once the certificate is obtained, it must be digitally attached through the Virtual Secretariat.

ATTENDANCE TO CLASS:
The Governing Council approved the Regulation of class attendance in the official undergraduate and master's programs of the University of Santiago de Compostela, in the Governing Council dated November 25, 2024.
The USC is a face-to-face university, so the attendance requirements mentioned earlier are mandatory. In cases outlined in the Faculty regulations, students may request an official exemption from classes. In cases where attendance exemptions are allowed, with their specific circumstances, the rules established in Instruction No. 1/2017 from the General Secretariat of USC will be taken into account. USE OF MOBILE PHONES:The use of mobile phones in the classroom is restricted to their use as a work tool, following the instructions given by the teacher, with students being responsible for the legal and academic consequences that may arise from inappropriate use.
