Internships in companies consist of training activities with their respective ECTS content. They are complementary training periods at the University in companies in the journalism and communication sector through the USC-Company internship agreement that regulates this activity.
The skills that students will acquire are those related to the development of their own training stay in companies. In addition to these specific skills, students will learn about the casuistry of the labour market on an experimental basis.The student will do an internship in companies in the sector.

BASIC AND GENERAL COMPETENCES (CB and GC)
CB2 - Students must be able to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and possess the competences that are usually demonstrated through the development and competences usually demonstrated through the elaboration and defense of arguments and the resolution of problems within their area of study
CB3 - Students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (usually within their field of study) in order to make judgements which include reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues
CB4 - Students are able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
CB5 - Students should have developed the learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy

CG3 - Competence to exercise the profession with professional ethics and civic commitmentThe students, who have academic tutoring (faculty tutor) and professional tutoring (tutor appointed by the collaborating entity), develop a training plan agreed between the company, the student and the Centre.
The evaluation system consists of the assessment of the work developed according to the training project and through the following instruments:
- Final report of the external tutor of the collaborating entity
- Final report of the student
Evaluation and qualification: the academic tutor, in view of the report from the collaborating entity and the student's final report, will evaluate the internship carried out, covering the corresponding evaluation report, so that he/she himself/herself or the coordinator of the internships covers and signs the records.External internships in the Degree in Journalism require the completion of 12 ECTS credits (300 hours). For this, the student will have to take a total of 10 hours of tutoring and the remaining 290 hours dedicated to the work to be carried out in the company.
For a better monitoring of external internships, it is recommended to consult the regulations and the call for applications published by the Faculty of Communication Sciences in each academic year.
